1. Money scandal involving people of  RM12.7 billion .
Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik  pleaded not guilty on two prosecution under Section 418 and 417 of the Penal Code for allegedly deceiving the Cabinet on projects valued at  RM12.7 billion  it. Former President of MCA is accused of deceiving the Cabinet to agree to approve the  purchase of land being 999.5 acres owned by Malay fishermen's cooperative  in Pulau Indah, at RM25 per sq ft, with interest rate of 7.5 percent, far higher value than actual value in the market. He also issued a letter directing the PKFZ project was given to the New Dimension Sdn Bhd, owned by BN Supporters Club Chairman, Dato Seri Tiong King Sing.
